Loving Your Garden

Xoán Pérez
BSc, BA(Hons), MLA

Following the completion of his Masters in Landscape Architecture in 2003,
Xoan went on to work for firms such as KPF Architects in London and Mettler Landschaftsarchitektur in Berlin before returning to London to create Loving your Garden. Completed projects range from private urban gardens to masterplanning, not-for-profit community projects and large regeneration schemes, both in the UK and abroad.

A keen horticulturalist and environmentalist, Xoan started gardening whilst completing his Forestry Engineering degree, and has since continued to do so on a regular basis, constantly experimenting with wild flowers, perennials, bulbs, shrubs and ornamental grasses. He regularly consults for architecture and landscape architecture practices as a planting specialist.

In addition to his commercial work, Xoan continues to be involved in a number of not-for-profit projects, creating awareness of the issues around community development, deforestation and urbanization. Projects include installations for the 2018 London Architecture Festival, workshops with local authorities, collaborations with different artists, a short film for the
London Dance Film Festival etc.

Isabel Wrench
BA Landscape Architecture

A regular contributor to Loving your Garden, Isabel is a garden tour specialist who has lead national and international garden tours for the past 20 years.
Her passion for exploring and understanding historical and private gardens began with a childhood growing up at Stourhead House & Gardens in Wiltshire.

In addition to her BA in Landscape Architecture, Isabel’s keen interest in horticulture has led her to turn her large London garden into an experimental plot where perennials, ornamental grasses and evergreens are regularly tested.

Speaking fluent Italian, Spanish and French, Isabel has lived and travelled in various countries giving her a broad international cultural outlook. This she exploits when exploring context and history of new project sites both in the UK and abroad.
