La Moraleja, Madrid
Mirroring the sleek design of the house, the garden emerges as an orderly pattern of clean cut geometric shapes in varying textures and hues of green. Blocks of Buxus sempervirens, Teucrium fruticans, Hedera helix and Trachelospermum asiaticum are the anchoring elements in this luminous outdoor space. The striking purples of Verbena bonariensis and Perovskias bring colourful notes during the summer months, whilst meandering streams of ornamental grasses add dynamism and autumnal drama.
Inside the house, a self contained tropical rainforest greets visitors as they walk through the main entrance. A show of multi-stem palms nestled in lush understorey create a spectacle to be enjoyed from both the indoors and the outdoors.
